Pool table leveling

Just recovered my pool table and re-did the seams on the three pieces of slate and all was good. Table was perfectly level.

When i died down the rails the seams where the slat meet are no longer level and i can feel a little bump where they meet.

What did I do wrong, what can i do to fix this?

Welcome to the forums.

It sounds like the slates are rocking..... not sitting flat.
The slates should remain flat without the seam being applied.
Did you use wax ? Did the seam come apart ?

Didn't come apart, but you can feel that one piece of slate is a little higher than the other. You can hear it when a ball crosses the seam. This was not the case before i tied down the rails.

I just put a shim under the slate and that fixed it.

Thanks for your reply.

Good job. I've only worked on a few but they can be very touchy.
