3 Flowering Evergreen Shrubs
Evergreen shrubs provide fall foliage, colorful blooms, and can survive hardy conditions. Once established, most will remain self-contained and require little maintenance, being an ideal plant for busy or novice gardeners.
1. Rhododendron and Azaleas - Rhododendron rhododendron and Rhododendron tsutsusi
With showy flowers in red, white, pink and purple, rhododendrons are large shrubs which require almost no maintenance. Azaleas are from the same family and have small, more numerous flowers. Both plants can become large if not pruned back and live exceptionally long lives. Rhododendron are poisonous.

2. Mountain Laurel - Kalmia latifolia
Mountain Laurel comes in a multitude of varieties which can have fancy variegated flowers to simple, small pink or white blooms. Be careful with children and pets, however, as Mountain Laurel is poisonous.

Growing Conditions: Partial to full shade and Moist, acidic soils
3.Camellia - Camellia japonica
Camellia shrubs are a beloved southern flower for their ability to bloom during the colder months of the year (October to March) and will bloom down to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. This tall shrub has saucer-shaped blooms appearing in shades from pure white to deep red.

Height: Up to 20 feet, usually 6 to 8 feet
Growing Conditions: Partial shade with moist, acidic soil
