3 Warning Signs of a Clogged Garbage Disposal

One of the home appliances which is used every day and is usually taken for granted is the garbage disposal unit. We probably do not even realize its worth until the day it gets clogged and our day to day cleaning work is disrupted.

Why Does a Garbage Disposal Unit Get Clogged?

There are a number of things that can clog the garbage disposal unit and one of them is poor drainage caused by insufficient water supply for flushing the disposal. Another reason is that when food material like egg shells, banana peels and potato peels are ground up in the disposal unit and, due to either lack of water or reaction to water, they are not ground up properly.

Warning 1 - Noise

The unit is making lot of noise and the wastes are not being properly ground up.

Warning 2 - Waste Remains Show

After running the garbage disposal, an untidy mess appears at the waste discharge pipe of the garbage disposal.

Warning 3 - Odor

When you begin to smell the odor or rotting food from your garbage disposal sink opening, you can know that food is not being drained properly when your equipment is used.

A clogged garbage disposal unit is not very difficult to clean if the proper steps are followed and sufficient safety measures are taken so that you do not end up injuring yourself or the disposal unit.
