4 Types of Cleaning Solution for Vinyl Siding
You will need to know a vinyl cleaning solution to effectively clean the siding on your home. While this type of siding is supposed to be maintenance free, you will need to occasionally remove dirt, mud, dust and other debris from it to keep the vinyl looking good.
Soapy Water Solution
Perhaps the best way to clean your vinyl siding is with a very basic combination of hot water and dish liquid. This combination will create a grease cutting solution that will take off the dirt and leave a great finish.
Oxygen Bleach and Vinegar
Another popular combination for a vinyl cleaning solution is one that uses either oxygen bleach or vinegar. Use a pail and combine 1 part bleach with 5 parts of water. If you want to use vinegar, use a 1 part vinegar to 4 parts water mix. Dip a soft cloth into the combination and scrub the vinyl, rinsing completely when you are finished.
Commercial Stain Remover
If you have a set in stain on your vinyl siding, you can use a commercial stain remover like Mean Green or OxiClean. These mixtures are non-toxic and will work at the stain before you rinse it off.
While a power washer is not a vinyl cleaning solution, it is a way to rinse off most of the dirt before applying any cleaner. Be careful with the setting so that you do not crack the vinyl.
