ATI Video Card Troubleshooting
An ATI video card is responsible for giving your computer smooth graphics display and fast rendering process. If your ATI video card is causing you problems, follow the instructions below.
Uninstall and Reinstall the Device Drivers
Uninstall the device drivers presently used by your ATI video card. To do this, go to the “Run” field of your computer by clicking the Start Menu. Enter “devmgmt.msc” in the run field. Look for the display adapter in the device manager and right-click on it. Choose "Uninstall" and follow the on-screen procedures. Restart your computer.
Insert the device driver installation of your ATI video card into your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive. Follow the autoplay procedures on how to install the device driver. If you do not have a device driver installation disk, you can browse through the Internet for the updated device driver of your specific ATI video card. Download the device driver and run the installation program.
Check your ATI Video Card Fan
Your ATI video card comes with an attached cooling fan of its own. Check if the fan is running by removing the case of your computer. You can do this by unscrewing the screws located at the back of your computer casing. If the fan is not running, contact your video card manufacturer or purchase a new ATI video card.
Check the Power Supply
Newer video cards require power supply. Check if the power supply cables are attached to the video card properly.
