Epoxy and waterproof paint are two products that you may find useful if you own a home with a basement. 1. Consistency

Epoxy is a type of adhesive that dries hard, shiny, and smooth, much like plastic. The consistency of epoxy resembles honey; applying it to a surface other than a floor can be difficult. Waterproof paint has the consistency of any other kind of paint you would purchase at a paint store, making it easy to apply to any surface.

2. Indoor and Outdoor Use

Epoxy and waterproof paint are both fairly effective in the basement where dampness and mild instances of water occur. For major issues, first remove the water from outside the home. Take proper steps to keep water away from the foundation which includes applying a waterproofing material.

4. Application Methods

Epoxy is thicker and is generally applied with a paintbrush. It is too heavy for most paint rollers and will clog paint sprayers. You cannot thin the epoxy to make it easier to apply. Waterproof paint can be applied using a paintbrush, paint roller, or even a paint sprayer.
