If you enjoy a real soaking tub and want to change the look of your bathroom, you might want to build a freestanding bathtub in your home. The freestanding bathtub concept is modeled after clawfoot tubs. They are simpler to install in comparison to standard wall tubes

The Process

The process of building a freestanding bathtub is not difficult, but you need to ensure that you have all of the right know-how and tools to get the job done properly. Note the position of each of the feet on the freestanding bathtub, because they are not interchangeable. That is because the tub was leveled in the factory. The feet should be installed at the drain end first; 2 people will be needed to do this. The 2 feet on the other end of the tub can be attached next.

The tub should be allowed to settle on its feet once it has been installed. Check to see if the tub wobbles. Once the tub is put together, the next step is to install the plumbing, which may require the assistance of a licensed plumber.
