Can snowblower oil go bad?

The question of whether or not snowblower oil can go bad is a loaded one. If a plastic bottle of oil is stored in a dry place, where the temperature remains at around 50 degrees or so and is not exposed to direct sunlight or blasts of cold air then it can last for up to five years. However, it is advisable to use that oil within three years to avoid putting in oil that has begun to break down or no longer meets the technical requirements of your snowblower engine. If the container is opened then debris and water can get into the oil and break it down.
