Cleaning your desk fan every once and awhile ensures that it will continue to run smoothly and function for a longer period of time. In order to properly and safely clean your fan, begin by gathering the necessary materials and then use the steps below as a guide in the cleaning process.
Step 1- Unplug and Dismantle Your Fan
First, turn your desk fan off and unplug it from the wall circuit. Next, remove the front grill from the fan, usually by un-clipping it, but always consult your owner’s manual for the correct procedure. Once the front grill has been removed, take the blade off and then finally remove the back grill.
Step 2- Cleaning Your Fan
Dip one of the wash cloths you have into the bucket, which should have the warm water mixed with dish washing liquid, and wipe down the fan's blades and grills. Then, remove any excess liquid with one of your other dry wash cloths. When it comes to cleaning the motor, only brush it with a dry tooth brush.
Step 3- Allow to Dry
Allow the blades and the grills to completely dry. Once these parts have dried completely, you can then reassemble your fan.
