Brass plumbing fixtures can be cleaned with many products that you already have in your home. You do not have to spend money on expensive cleaning solutions. Try one of these household mixtures.
Lemon and Salt
This combination is the most natural way to clean brass plumbing fixtures. You must cut a lemon in half and remove all of the seeds. Then sprinkle a generous portion of salt onto the lemon. Holding the lemon by the rind, gently rub it over the brass fixture. Once you are finished, buff the brass with a lint-free cloth.
Lemon and Baking Soda
Cleaning brass plumbing fixtures can also be accomplished with a lemon and baking soda. Do the same as described above, but substitute baking soda for salt. After you have rubbed the brass fixture to a shine, rinse it carefully with warm water. Then finish by wiping the brass with a lint-free cloth.
Ketchup and Worcestershire Sauce
It may sound strange, but it works. Your brass plumbing fixtures will shine like never before after you apply either ketchup or Worcestershire sauce to them. To clean with either condiment, use a clean and damp cloth to rub the condiment into the brass. Once you have rubbed enough, wipe it clean and feel thrilled at the shine.
