Cleaning a Persian rug is easily accomplished by vacuuming, but what about the fringe? By following these steps you will have a clean fringe in no time.

Step 1 - Protect Your Floor

Before cleaning your Persian rug, place a garbage bag with a towel over it underneath the fringe. This will keep the dirt off of the floor beneath, not only protecting it, but making clean up easier.

Step 2 - Comb Fringe

Gently comb or brush the fringe to dislodge any dirt or debris.

Step 3 - Clean Fringe

Create a cleaning solution made from one ounce ammonia (non-sudsing) and eight ounces warm water.

Using a clean, white sponge or cloth, dip it in the cleaning solution and then gently wipe over the fringe.

Step 4 - Rinse Fringe

Using another clean, white cloth or sponge, rinse out the fringe.

Still Dirty?

If the fringe is still dirty, repeat the last two steps to get it clean.
