Cleaning Rust off Cast Iron

Cleaning rust off cast iron is necessary to keep the cast iron in good condition. This is not a complicated job and can be completed during the weekend when you are free. Here's how you do it.
Step 1 - Apply Solution
Apply a cleaning solution on the rust-affected area and allow the solution to work.
Step 2 - Soak in Vinegar
Soak the cast iron in a vinegar solution.
Step 3 - Let it Sit
Allow the cast iron to sit in the solution for some time.
Step 4 - Scrub
Remove the cast iron and scrub with force.
Step 5 - Repeat
Repeat the above process till the rust wears off.
Step 6 - Wash
Wash the cast iron with soap and rinse it.
Step 7 - Dry
Wipe off the excess water with a paper towel and then let it dry naturally.
Step 8 - Add Salt
If the above doesn't work, add three spoonfulls of salt and add vegetable oil.
Step 9 - Use Paper Towel
Get some paper towels.
Step 10 - Scrub
Scrub the salt and oil mixture with a paper towel.
Step 11 - Use Steel Wool
If the rust does not budge, then use steel wool to scrub.
Step 12 - Continue
Continue scrubbing till the rusts start wearing off.
Step 13 - Wash
Wash the cast iron with soap.
Step 14 - Use Hot Water
Use hot water to wash the cast iron.
Step 15 - Dry
Let the cast iron dry out in the open.
Step 16 - Finish
Check the cast iron after it has dried to see if any rust remains.
