Making your own homemade vinyl cleaner is both eco friendly and money saving. There are a few recipes you may want to try.

Recipe 1 - Vinegar and Water

White vinegar mixed with warm water will both kill odors in your kitchen and clean your floor. All you need to do is mix 1/2 cup to 1 cup of vinegar, depending upon how dirty your floor is, with one gallon of warm water and mop as usual. This will work on most vinyl floors if they aren't too dirty or don't have wax build up.

Recipe 2 - Dish Liquid and Alcohol

If your vinyl is streaked after mopping or very dirty this is the best recipe for you. Put one gallon of warm to hot water in a mop bucket and add about 1/2 a teaspoon of dish washing liquid and 1/2 cup alcohol. This will remove grease and grime and will also sanitize and deodorize your floor.

Recipe 3 - Ammonia and Water

If you have wax buildup on your floor, this is the best recipe for you to try. Put 1 gallon of hot water in your bucket and add 1 cup of ammonia. If you don't like the smell of ammonia, you can find unscented varieties. You can use regular or sudsing ammonia. Mop as usual.
