Sometimes finding a hardwood floor cleaner that actually works can be difficult. If you regularly purchase commercial hardwood floor cleaners, the money spent on these items can really add up. However, you can actually come up with a potent hardwood floor cleaner from things that you have around the house. Here are a few hardwood floor cleaners that you can make at home.
Vinegar is great for cleaning a number of different things around the house, and hardwood is no exception. Try mixing 1/2 cup of vinegar with a gallon of warm water. You can then use this solution to mop your floor.
Even though it may sound strange, you can use tea to clean the floor as well. Put 10 teabags in 1/2 gallon of water. You can then use this solution to also mop the floor. Make sure that you wipe it up after you are done mopping.
Dishwashing liquid can work on a hardwood floor just as well as it does on your dishes. Make sure that you are using a dishwashing liquid that does not have any dyes or scents. Put a few drops of the dishwashing liquid in a spray bottle filled with water. You can spray this onto the wood floor, mop it, and then wipe it up.
