A home dehumidifier is a useful installation in a moisture-heavy space. It works to draw in air, remove the moisture and expel it back into the room, far dryer than before. This appliance can be of great help for people with allergies, asthma or who are easily congested.
If in constant use, the water collection pail of a dehumidifier must be emptied every few days. If your home has a sump, you can modify the dehumidifier to empty automatically. You'll basically run a drain line from the collection pail to the sump with an electric pump in between. Water will flow from the pail to the pump. From there, the pump will forcibly move it through tubing and/or pipe to the sump.
