Concrete floor staining has become a popular decorating project in modern homes. Concrete is inexpensive and long-lasting, which makes it budget friendly. Before you apply stain, the floor must be totally clean. Scrub it with detergent and water. Then rinse thoroughly and allow it to completely dry.
Check the floor for oil or other stains, and use a heavy duty detergent to remove them. If you find any cracks, fill them with acrylic cement crack filler. Sand the concrete floor with coarse sandpaper on an electric sander to roughen the surface so that it will absorb the stain. Be sure to vacuum away all sanding dust before you apply the stain.
