How far apart should nails be when laying asphalt roll roofing?
When you apply asphalt roll roofing, it helps to get the nail spacing correct. The installation of the shingles will go much smoother if the initial installation of the asphalt roll roofing is done properly. There are two nail spacing considerations when it comes to installing asphalt rolls. The nails should not go to the very outer edge of the roll. Make sure there is a two-inch space between the edge of the roll, and the first nail. The nails themselves should be in uniform rolls spaced six to eight inches apart from each other on either side, and top to bottom.
