Using stucco allows you to transform a wall into something quite magical while also hiding any blemishes it might have.
Step 1 – Clean the Wall
Brush the wall carefully to remove all dust and any loose surface.
Step 2 – Bonding Agent
Brush the wall with a concrete bonding agent and allow it to dry.
Step 3 – First Layer
Apply the first layer of stucco up to half an inch thick and allow it to harden slightly.
Step 4 – Create a Keyed Surface
When the first coat has hardened slightly you should scratch it thoroughly to less than a quarter of an inch depth and then allow it to dry. These scratches are the "key" that the next layer of stucco needs to bind to. While it is drying, which could take 48 hours, keep misting the surface to prevent it from drying out.
Step 5 – Apply Final Coat
Apply the final coat of stucco up to a quarter-inch thick. Create the texture that you want and then allow it to dry out completely but mist the surface occasionally.
It's always useful to practice before putting the final touches—especially if you want to create a particular textured finish. Try different tools and implements to get what you want
