How To Care For A Desk Fan

A desk fan is a great thing to have to keep your personal space cooled off during the warm season. To ensure that your fan keeps working at optimum efficiency there are some things you can do.

1 – Keep Oiled
Every season that you bring your fan out, you should first do some basic maintenance. One of the main things you should be doing is keeping the parts to your fan well lubricated. Be sure to oil any bearings, blades and gears.

2 – Keep Cleaned
Any type of fan will accumulate dust and dirt so it’s important to include in your regular maintenance a good cleaning. You can use a vacuum to clean the screen face and a cloth and gentle cleanser to keep the blades clean.

3 – Replace Parts
If any parts need to be replaced, be sure to take care of it right away. The longer the fan runs with faulty or loose parts, the higher the chance becomes of having to replace the whole unit. You can find parts from the manufacturer or from any local supplier.

4 – Proper Storage
Between uses or between warm seasons, be sure to store your fan in a manner that protects the unit and in a place where it will not accumulate a large amount of dirt or dust.
