How to Clean Fingerprints Off a Sliding Glass Door

What You'll Need
White wine vinegar
Cold water
Commercial cleaner, preferably Windex

If your sliding glass door has recently accumulated fingerprints, you may be wondering how to go about removing them. If so, read on to learn everything you'll need to know about making your sliding glass door fingerprint-free.

Step 1: Prep Your Screen Door

Before expelling fingerprints from your sliding glass door, it is recommended that you use a soft washcloth or feather duster to carefully wipe away any dust. Caked-on dust stands to cause problems once the cleaning process is underway.

Step 2: Apply Your Water

Certain fingerprints can be wiped away with nothing more than cold water. After soaking a sponge or washcloth, proceed to wipe away the fingerprints. Should this prove unsuccessful, feel free to add a 1/4 teaspoon of very mild soap to your water.

Step 3: Apply Your Vinegar

If you're not a fan of chemical-laden commercial cleaners, mix a 1/4-cup of white wine vinegar with one gallon of water. Next, soak a sponge or washcloth in the mixture, wring it out and proceed to wipe any fingerprints off your sliding glass door.

Step 4: Apply Your Windex

If you have no qualms about using commercial cleaners, Windex tends to work very well for jobs like this. After carefully spraying any fingerprint-heavy areas of your sliding glass door with your cleaner of choice, use a sponge or washcloth to wipe the prints away.
