How to Clean Venetian Plaster

What You'll Need
Nonabrasive washcloths
Warm water
Mild liquid soap
Cleaning wipes

If your Venetian plaster is in need of a good cleaning, you may be curious about how to administer it. Fortunately, despite its delicate nature, Venetian plaster can be successfully cleaned with a few common household items.

Step 1 - Prep Your Cleaning Supplies

Begin the cleaning process by lightly soaking a nonabrasive washcloth in warm water. Next, you will need to place a very small amount of mild liquid soap in the center of the washcloth.

Step 2 - Clean Your Venetian Plaster

Having prepped your washcloth, you are ready to start cleaning your Venetian plaster. Begin this step by using your washcloth to gently wipe any dirty areas in a circular motion. If the plaster has fallen victim to stubborn stains, you may substitute your washcloth for a commercial cleaning wipe. Just make the sure the wipe doesn't contain any bleach.

Step 3 - Apply Your Finishing Touches

Once all dirt deposits have been purged from your plaster, use a dry nonabrasive washcloth to carefully wipe away any remaining moisture. As moisture is among the leading causes of mold and mildew formation, you'll want to be thorough when performing this final step.
