How to Get Rid of Stubborn Toilet Bowl Stains

Toilet bowl stains can be hard to remove. They are often not just stains, but scale or hard water deposits. Nonetheless, you can remove them with the right supplies and steps.

Step 1 - Lowering the Water Level

To be sure you can get at all of the stains, you will need lower the water level. This is easily done by pouring a bucket of water into the toilet bowl. When the water level is down, you can start removing the stains.

Step 2 - Prepare Your Pumice Stone

They are most often used to smooth away dry skin from feet. For this purpose, you will soak the pumice for a few minutes to allow it to absorb water. This will cause the pumice to become a little softer. After you see it has absorbed some water, you can start scrubbing away at the the stains.

Step 3 - Scrub the Stains

Using your pumice stone at an angle, gently scrub the stains in a circular motion. Stop to check your progress often. You want to remove the stain but not the finish in your toilet bowl, or you'll have another problem. After all of the stains are removed just flush, which will bring your water level back up to its normal line.
