Epoxies made for bonding glass to glass are available for purchase at any home improvement store. These are bonding agents that are specifically designed to be used on many surfaces including non-porous surfaces such as glass. They are readily available for purchase either in premixed solutions or if you prefer you can purchase an epoxy that you have to mix together yourself just prior to using it. For first-time epoxy users, it is best to purchase premixed epoxy in order to simplify your task. This article describes the step-by-step process for gluing glass to glass using a standard epoxy.
Every glass on glass gluing experience will be different, depending upon the size, weight, and thickness of the glass. The following instructions should be interpreted as basic instructions that can be adapted to your specific project.
Step 1 - Create a Plan
Place the two pieces of glass in the position which you intend to bond them to get a visual representation of how the pieces will lay. Doing so allows you to determine where to apply the epoxy when gluing.
Apply an adequate coat of epoxy to the bonding surfaces of both pieces of glass before pressing them together to bond.
Allow the pieces to sit together and bond for several hours until the epoxy has completely dried. You may need to clamp them to hold them firmly together during this process.
