Beaded curtains come in a variety of beads and other materials. Apart from being attractive, they help to keep insects out. Hanging beaded curtains in doorways or on window frames is simple and only takes a few minutes.
Types of Beaded Curtains
Beaded curtains are made with acrylic, glass, bamboo or wood. The beads are shaped into animals, gems, disco balls, and many other designs. Some curtains are made with just strands of beads, and others are woven together. Woven beaded curtains are often used as blinds.
Hanging Beaded Curtains
Not many tools are required when hanging beaded curtains. All you need is a hammer and some small nails. If you plan on hanging your beaded curtains on the underside of a door frame, cup hooks are recommended. Cup hooks are suitable to use when hanging curtains on the faces of frames too.
Beaded curtains come with attached rings that are found at the top of the curtain. Hold the curtain into place against the door or window frame, and using the rings as a guide, mark out with a pencil where cup hooks or nails are to be attached.
Once you've marked out the holes, hammer a nail into each mark. If you're using cup hooks, hammer a nail into the marks first. It's easier to screw the cup hooks into the wall with a small hole to guide them.
When nails or hooks are in place, simply hang up your beaded curtains.
