Corner bathroom sinks were designed to be installed in a corner created by two adjoining walls. It is different in design from a sink intended to be mounted in the middle of a room or on a wall. A number of reasons could be taken when choosing a corner sink, such as aesthetic value, space limitations, plumbing limitations, and workflow issues.
Some designs come with a countertop. It provides additional utility space for the bathroom. A number of different styles, colors, and materials can be considered. You do not need special skills to install such a sink, just follow these easy steps.
Step 1 - Measure the Area
Measure the sink height. It can range from 30 to 32-inches. Mark your measurement on the walls and locate the studs. Measure 16x16-inches on the wallboard and cut it with a saw. Then install a block of 2x10-inch wood between the studs. Toenail screws into the studs to ensure your woodblock is flush with the front borders of the studs.
Step 2 - Make the Plumbing Holes
Cut out for pipes for the drain line and water supply lines. Put the mounting plate on the wall where you are going to install the sink and make pilot holes with a drill.
Step 3 - Install the Sink Fixtures
Next, install the drain, pop up, and faucet assemblies on the bathroom sink. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for proper installation. Attach the mounting plate on the block and ensure it is level.
Step 4 - Attach the Corner Sink
Place the bathroom sink on the mounting bracket and secure it with anchor bolts. The trap should be connected with the drain stub, while the shut-off valves are connected to the water supply pipes. If there is a trim piece that comes with your bathroom sink, install it during this step.
Step 5 - Check Your Work
Restore the flow of water. Check for leaks on the fittings. If you find them, tighten the fittings. Make any further adjustments to the other sink, such as the faucet or pop up fixtures. If no problem is detected, you can enjoy your new bathroom corner sink.
