With a handheld showerhead, you can easily direct the spray or water exactly where you want it. Follow these steps to install a handheld showerhead.
Step 1 - Remove the Old Shower Head
Turn the water off at the mains. Take care not to stress the water pipe which extends from the wall. Once the head has been removed, thoroughly clean the threads on the pipe and remove any remaining sealant.
Step 2 - Attach the New Showerhead Fixture
Wrap some Teflon tape around the screw threads on the water pipe. Wrap the tape evenly, using no more than 2 layers.
Attach the holder for the new showerhead. Tighten the screws by hand. Fix the shower hose to the holder and to the showerhead. Then turn on the water and check for leaks. Some handheld showerheads feature a holder that is fixed to the wall near the water pipe. These fixtures have a hose that is connected directly to the pipe. You must drill holes to fit them.
