If you want to make your home more energy-efficient, you can use an insulation blowing machine to install insulation inside the exterior facing walls of your home. Setting up an insulation blowing machine is not too difficult and is something you can do with the help of a few friends. Here is a simple step-by-step guide that will teach you how to set up and use an insulation blowing machine.

Step 1 - Set Up the Insulation Blowing Machine

The insulation blowing machine will create quite a bit of dust, so you should set it up outside rather than inside your home. You should also wear a particle mask and protective eyewear while working with insulation. Once the machine is outside, pass the hose through an open window and prepare to start blowing insulation.

Step 2 - Load the Machine with Insulation

Have one of your assistants fill the machine with loose insulation material. On most insulation blowing machines, you simply need to open the cover of the machine and dump the material into the basin.

Step 3 - Start Blowing Insulation

Insert the hose into the first hole and then wrap a rag or towel around the outside of the hose to keep the insulation from blowing back out of the hole. Have one of your friends turn on the machine and start blowing insulation in between the studs in the wall. Continue blowing the insulation until the machine starts to struggle. When you start to feel resistance in the hose, this means that the area is full of insulation.

By following these easy steps, you can install insulation in your home using an insulation blowing machine in no time.
