How to Install Halogen Car Lights
Halogen car lights are used on most modern vehicles these days. They provide a number of advantages, but they do still need replacing periodically. Instead of replacing the halogen lights with standard one supplied by the manufacturer, you can also use this opportunity to upgrade to an improved bulb that offers brighter light.
Tools and Materials Needed:
- Halogen bulb
- Screwdriver
Step 1 – Remove Headlight Casing
Switch off the car’s ignition and open the third of the car. The headlight will be enclosed by a case in which is held into place by some bolts. With most cars, this is easy to remove simply by unscrewing and removing the bolts. In other cases, you may have to get under the car to access some of the bolts.
Step 2 – Remove Bulb Retainer
The headlight casing will have a bulb retainer in it. Reach behind this, twisting it out of place by turning it in a clockwise direction. You will then need to disconnect the light itself from the electrical supply. Push the tab, pulling the bulb retainer out.
Step 3 – Replace the Bulb
Twist the bulb out of the retainer, placing the new one in its place. Reinstall the casing unit and place the cover back over the unit.
