How to Install Plastic Corner Guards

What You'll Need
Plastic corner guards
Tape measure
Marking pen
Old rags

Well placed plastic corner guards can help protect your door from heavy foot traffic and damages caused by ambulatory devices such as walkers. Installing plastic corner guards is not difficult and you can easily do this job on your own even if your carpentry skills are limited. To install plastic corner guards on your doors, this is what you need to do.

Step 1 – Clean the Area

Before you start working on the corners of your doors, you should clear the area near the door so that you can move around freely. After clearing the area, get a piece of rag and clean off the areas where you want to install your plastic corner guards.

Step 2 – Install the Plastic Corner Guards

If you are using a flexible plaster corner guard, maneuver the corner guard until you get a good 90 degree angle around the corner. Make sure that the corner guard is snugly in place before you put in the screws. Repeat the same procedure for the rest of the corners on your door.

Step 3 – Finish Up

Survey your work and make sure that all the plastic corner guards are correctly installed.
