A duvet cover is large and cumbersome, making it difficult to clean and iron. If you are cleaning your duvet cover and searching for an easier way to smooth it out, consider the following alternative ironing methods.
1. Fold and Ironing
Once the duvet cover is dry, carefully fold it in half and drape it over your ironing board. Ensuring both halves of the duvet cover are smoothed out, gently iron the cover over low heat. Do not iron a crease into the duvet cover where it is folded, but rather hang your duvet cover from a shower curtain rod or over the back of a couch or bed until it has fully dried after ironing.
2. Hang Drying
If using an iron is not working properly, consider hanging the duvet cover to dry it. Allow it to begin the drying process in a dryer, but remove it after 10 to 15 minutes of drying. The cover should still be damp. Shake the wrinkles out of the cover, smooth it out over a table or bed, and hang the cover to dry by a clothesline or shower curtain rod.
