If you are looking to add some bar furniture to your bar at home or your business place, you can build a few bar chairs. Bar chairs can be made at home and also cost less than buying them from the furniture store.

Step 1 - Measure the Height of the Bar Counter

Measure the height of the bar counter. The bar seat should be about 9 to 13 inches below the bar counter.

Step 2 - Measure the Length for the Stool

The required length for the legs will be the difference between the heights of the bar counter and approximately 11 inches. At this stage there must not be any hassle about the seat’s width because it will be done after the legs are slanted.

Step 3 - Make the Legs

Cut the ends of each leg 30 degree on each end. Remember to make sure that the second cut at the bottom end of each leg should be parallel to the one at the top end, so that the leg sits flat on the floor.

Step 4 - Making the Seat

Take the compass and draw a circle with a diameter of about 12 to 16 inches on the wooden sheet and then cut out a circle with the jigsaw to get a round shape for the seat.

Step 5 - Polishing

Use the sandpaper to polish the piece of wood making sure that all the edges are smooth.

Step 6 - Find the Center of the Seat to Glue the Legs

Draw a circle of about 10 inches from the center of the seat and then draw a square inside the circle.

Step 7 - Fix the Legs

Stick the legs with the wood glue to the seat at the corners of the square and make sure that the wooden rods, which are cut at 30 degrees, sit properly on the seat. Hold it and allow it to dry.

Step 8 - Consolidating the Legs

Measure 10 inches from the bottom of one leg towards the seat inwards and then measure the length between the next leg and the one that has been measured.

Step 9 - Cutting of the Footrest

Cut two pieces of the dowel rods to the length that has been obtained. Measure 14 inches from the bottom of the legs and repeat the process and cut another two pieces of wood.

Step 10 - Cutting of the Angle for the Footrest

Take one of the two longer pieces of wood and measure 30 degrees at every end so it converges towards one point and cut both the ends. Repeat the process for all the three remaining ones.

Step 11 - Gluing the Footrest

Slide one long rod up towards the seat with the longer side facing downwards until it stops and then glue it. Put the other long rod opposite to the first one and do the same. Once you have done that, glue the shorter rods following the same method.

Step 12 - Set the Bar Chair Upright

Now you can set the bar chair upright.
