If you've been wondering how to make your acrylic countertop shine like new, you've probably been looking for an effective way to polish it. With a thorough guide and a few readily available tools, polishing an acrylic countertop can be a piece of cake. Read on to learn everything you'll need to know.
Prep Your Countertop
Before you can begin polishing your acrylic countertop, you'll need to vigorously wipe it down with a wet cloth, taking care to remove any caked-on dirt. Make sure the countertop is nice and dry before proceeding with the next step.
Now that your freshly-cleaned countertop is dry, apply roughly a tablespoon of polish to your electric buffer and proceed to vigorously polish your acrylic countertop. When performing this step, take care to polish in a circular motion and evenly distribute the polish. Repeat this step until your entire acrylic countertop has been thoroughly polished. You should be able to cover roughly one square foot of countertop space per tablespoon of acrylic polish. Once the entire countertop has been gone over, allow it to have at least an hour's worth of drying time before placing anything on top of it.
