Shower mold can be removed from your shower by using a strong shower mold cleaner. This process should be completed on a regular basis in order to keep your shower free from mold. It is not complex or complicated; it only requires a scrub brush or sponge and bathroom cleaner that is specially designed to deal with mold and other buildup.
The shower should be maintained and cleaned on a regular basis, at least once a week in order to halt the growth of mold and mildew. If you do not clean the shower regularly, expect the extensive growth of mold. Before you get to the point that the shower can no longer be cleaned by regular means and requires you to remodel, follow these steps to eliminate the shower mold.
Step 1 - Purchase Cleaning Supplies
You can go to a grocery store or other retailer in order to purchase a mold and mildew bathroom cleaner, rubber gloves, and a stiff scrubbing brush.
Step 2 - Pre-Treat the Walls and Floor
Using a mold and mildew bathroom cleaner, spray the walls and floor of the shower in order to treat the mold and mildew that has accumulated on the walls. Allow the cleaner to sit for several minutes in order to penetrate the stains caused by the mold and mildew. Wear the rubber gloves while you apply the pre-treatment.
Step 3 - Scrub the Walls and Floor
Apply moderate pressure with a damp scrub brush with cleaner to the tile grout and surfaces. Do so for the walls and floor as well. You may need to apply the cleaner again in order to completely remove the mold.
Step 4 - Rinse the Walls and Floor With Water
Spray water from the shower onto the floor and wall to wash the cleaning residue. Examine the shower for remaining mold spots. If you detect any remaining mold, apply more cleaner and continue to scrub until the mold has been totally eliminated.
Step 5 - Create a Schedule for Cleaning
In order to prevent mold buildup from being a problem in the future, create a schedule for keeping your shower clean. This schedule should be followed in order to prevent the return of mold, which can present a heath hazard.
