Folding tables of all shapes and sizes are very popular items in homes and offices, but due to the amount of use they get, you will most likely be required to replace the folding table hardware as it wears out.
Step 1 - Find the Proper Hardware
Finding the proper hardware is paramount. Some larger hardware stores will have what you need, but there are also many resources on the internet that can supply you with the correct hinges, braces, and even legs for your table.
Step 2 - Remove the Existing Hardware
Begin carefully removing the existing hardware from the table. Once the old hardware has been removed, it may be necessary to clean up or sand away any dirt or rust left behind by a potentially broken hinge or brace.
Step 3 - Fit the New Hardware
It is recommended that you replace all of the table’s hinges or braces whenever it is necessary to replace any of it. This will ensure smooth operation of the table and is especially beneficial if the new hardware is different in size from the original hardware. Replace the table’s hardware and reattach any legs if necessary. Once the table has been put back together, make sure the table is level and make any finer adjustments to the hardware to finish your repair job.
