Foam pad

Rubber flooring mats are designed to protect floors and provide comfort. Over time dirt and residue can cause the mats to lose their shine. You can restore your mats simply and easily. This job will take about a half an hour to complete.

Step 1 – Preparing the Mats

Remove your rubber mats and place them outside. Be sure they are laying on a clean, hard surface.

Step 2 – Scrubbing the Mats

Pour a gallon of warm water into your bucket. Add a few squirts of liquid detergent. Combine the soap and water. Immerse your scrub brush into the cleaning solution. Shake off any excess liquid. Use the scrub brush to remover any residue from the mats

Step 3 – Rinsing the Mats

Adjust the nozzle of your garden hose to a high pressure setting. Use your garden hose to rinse the cleaning solution from the mats. Lift the mats and shake off the excess water.

Step 4 – Removing Stubborn Residue

Apply a spray degreaser to remove any stubborn residue from the mats. Let the spray sit on the mats for fifteen minutes. Rinse the degreaser off with the hose. Remove hard water and salt spots with vinegar. Apply the vinegar to a cloth and rub the mats clean. Rinse with the garden hose.

Step 5 – Finishing the Mats

Use your cleaning cloths to buff the mats dry. Apply a rubber protectant to the foam pad. Rub the protectant onto the mats in circular movements. Allow it to sit on the mats for five minutes then wipe off the excess.
