If your faux wood blinds are a little oversized for the place you want them to hang, you can easily cut them down to size in just a few hours with basic home improvements tools.
Step 1 - Hang the Blind
To work out how much space you need to remove from the bottom of your blinds, hang them at the window, and then lower the blinds to the place you want them to reach. Now you know the total length you need. Mark the final slat with a marker pen.
Step 2 - Remove the Slats
Remove your blind from the window, and lay the shades on a table or other large flat surface. Take off the bottom rail, which holds all the slats in place. You may need to use a screwdriver to remove the rails, either taking out screws, or popping out plugs which are holding the rail in place. Remove the slats up to the marked slat, replace one, and reattach the bottom rail back.
