Washing a mobile home on a regular basis can keep it looking fresh. Occasionally the time flies by and a major cleaning job might be called for.

Step 1 - Examine the Exterior

Before you start working you should check the exterior for areas that need a little extra attention. Sometimes you might find areas under the eaves or around the windows have streaks of dirt. It is also possible that you might find sections of the walls that need to be made a little more secure.

Step 2 - Remove all Obstacles

Before you can start work make sure you have a clear run by removing anything that is leaning against or growing up the walls.

Step 3 - Scrub the Worst Areas

Use a scrubbing brush on a long pole to scrub all the areas of the walls that are particularly dirty. Use a bleach solution to loosen and clean the dirt off.

Step 4 - Pressure Spray

The easiest way to thoroughly clean walls is to use a pressure spray. A pressure wand delivering a concentrated spray over a small area might be fine for concrete but the walls of a mobile home need something a little less extreme. You should choose a broad fan shaped spray and a reasonably high level of pressure to clean as wide an area as possible with each sweep.

Step 5 - Start at the Top

Using the sprayer 12 to 18 inches from the walls, spray from side to side and work your way down the walls. Keep the spray head moving in a smooth rhythm and the job will not seem so tedious. Pay particular attention to the areas that you scrubbed to make sure they come out clean as well.

Step 6 - Work Your Way Round

Methodically work your way around the mobile home until you have done all the walls. Hopefully the walls will now all be clean and will dry evenly.

Step 7 - The Steps and Deck

If there are steps to the front door and a deck around the mobile home give these a pressure wash too. Try to prevent any splashing up onto the walls of the home that you have just finished cleaning.

Step 8 - The Door

While the walls, the deck, and the steps are drying pay a little attention to the door. Check the door hardware and clean off any rust or verdigris on metal. If there is a fan light or any sort of window in the door, use a little vinegar on paper to clean it and bring it to a sparkle. It might be necessary to clean the inside of the window as well.

Step 9 - The Windows

Check round all the windows and clean them well with a little soap and water. The window frames will possibly require a little more attention. If cleaning the outside of the windows exposes dirt inside the windows then they should be cleaned inside as well.
