What You'll Need
12-Volt vehicle emergency lights
Electrical wire
Pliers or wire cutters
2-position on/off switch
Utility knife
Electrical tape or wire caps
Fuse assembly

If you would like to add emergency lights to your vehicle, here is a quick overview of what you will need to do to properly install them.

Step 1 - Mount Emergency Light

Follow instructions for mounting lights to dash or top of vehicle and secure the lighting in place.

Step 2 - Install Switch

Find a suitable location for the on/off switch on your dash. Use a utility knife if needed to carve out a space for the switch assembly. Mount the switch assembly into the dashboard so that it is easily accessible while you are driving. Run the wiring from the switch so that it is hidden underneath the dash or molding until it reaches the emergency light. Wire the power leads for the lighting to the switch.

Step 3 - Run Wiring to Battery

Find an open hole in the fire wall of your car's engine area. Carefully feed the electrical wiring through the open space and cut a length that is long enough to reach from the on/off switch to the terminals on your car's battery. Connect the wires to the switch and then to the positive and negative terminals of the battery. Use electrical tape or wire caps for the connections on wires to the switch. Be sure to install a breaker or fuse in the positive lead near the battery.
