An iron pot rack is a lovely adornment to your kitchen. As with most things, there are pros and cons to having one. Here we will explore these pros and cons to help you decide if an iron pot rack is the right choice for you.
1 - Pros
First, iron is not as expensive as some of its counterparts such as copper. It is also very durable and will last for years. It can be painted if you want to change the color later with paint made especially for metals. Iron is not prone to scratches and dents either.
2 - Cons
Iron pot racks are very heavy. You will need to be sure they are hung correctly or it may come tumbling down on you, pots and all! It also tends to rust over time if not treated from with a protective coating. An easy anecdote to rust is to scrape it off with a wire brush and coat it with car wax a couple of times of year if you do not mind doing so. This may be more upkeep than some people are willing to do.
