There are many reasons to hang a wall hung vanity base. Many people simply enjoy the look. They can also save space and make cleaning easier. Follow these steps to install a wall hung vanity base.

Step 1 - Remove the Old Sink

Remove your old sink or other fixture. Make sure that the plumbing supply and waste lines can be moved. They must also accommodate the new fixture's dimensions. Locate the studs behind your sink with a stud finder.

Step 2 - Align the Studs

Hold the cabinet or sink in place while ensuring that the studs are aligned properly. They must rest against the bracket mounting holes of your sink. If your studs do not align, then you must remove the wallboard behind your mounting area.

A 2x6-inch block will need to be installed between the studs. Do so at the mounting screws. Then remove and either repair or replace your wallboard.

Step 3 - Mount the Holes

Now mark the spots on the walls where the mounting holes will connect. It is a good idea to use a template or a temporary brace made of 2x4-inch boards. Then mark through your mounting holes. Take your time as you do so; if you rush with this task, you will end up with a sink and vanity vanity that is not properly aligned.

Step 4 - Pilot Holes

Now drill your pilot holes. Make sure that you drill them in the exact location where you have marked them. You will need somebody to hold your vanity in the correct place while driving the mounting screws.

Step 5 - Reattach the Plumbing

Once the vanity base has been secured, you can replace the plumbing.
