If you have any trees in your yard that feature low-hanging fruit, you'll need an effective method of rabbit control. Even if you've had problems with rabbits in the past, you'll find that keeping them away from your fruit trees is a very simple undertaking.
Step 1 - Deter the Rabbits With Offensive Odors
One of the simplest methods of rabbit control around your fruit trees is to spray the surrounding area with a scent that rabbits find offensive. For example, many garden supply stores carry a number of specially-made sprays for keeping rabbits at bay. Alternatively, if you don't feel like purchasing a custom spray, sprinkling the surrounding area with white wine vinegar or Tabasco sauce is an effective way to keep rabbits away from your fruit trees.
Step 2 - Fence off the Surrounding Area
Another good method of rabbit control is fencing off the area around your fruit trees. If you don't feel like building your own wooden fence, you can purchase chicken wire fencing at virtually any garden supply store. Make sure your newly placed fencing stands at least 2 feet tall, as this should prevent the rabbits from hopping over it.
