How to Make Swirl Cookies

1 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup butter, softened

1/2 cup white sugar

1 egg yolk

3 tablespoons milk

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips

Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.

Blend together the butter and the sugar, beat in the egg yolk, milk, and vanilla. Add the flour mixture. Mix to combine.

Divide dough into two parts. Leave one part buttery and yellow, the other half is to have melted chocolate chips added to it. (Melt in microwave or over boiling water in double boiler being very careful not to scorch or burn). Chill both halves of the dough at least 2 hrs.

Roll out the black and white sections separately, each between two sheets of waxed paper.

Place black on white roll together as if rolling a jelly roll
Shape into uniform roll. Chill at least 4 hrs. or overnight
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
Slice chilled dough into 1/4-1/2 inch thick slices.

Bake on ungreased cookie sheets at 400 degrees F (205 degrees C) for 5 to 7 minutes
(up to 12 and don't overbake)


How to Make Strawberry Dream Bars

Preparation time: 20 mins
Cooking time: 25 mins

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups vanilla wafer crumbs

2 tablespoons margarine, melted

1 pound cream cheese, softened

2/3 cup sugar

2 eggs

2 teaspoons lemon juice

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

3 ounces Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels

24 strawberries

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Combine vanilla wafer crumbs and melted margarine in a bowl. Press onto the bottom of an 8-inch square pan.

Beat together softened cream cheese, sugar, and eggs until smooth. Stir in lemon juice and vanilla. Pour over the crust.

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the center is set. Cool, then cut into squares. Melt semi-sweet chocolate chips and decorate the squares. Top with 24 strawberries.

How to Make Malted Milk Cookies

2 1/2 cups All purpose flour

3/4 cup Plain malted milk powder

1/2 tsp. Baking soda

1/4 tsp. Salt

1 cup White sugar

1/2 cup Light brown sugar

1 cup Salted butter, softened

2 large Eggs

2 tsp. Pure vanilla extract

2 Tbsp. Eaglebrand Sweetnd. Condensed Milk

2 cups Milk chocolate chips (12-ounce)

Preheat oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.

In medium bowl combine flour, malted milk powder, baking soda, and salt.

Mix well with wire whisk. Set aside. Blend sugars in a large bowl using an electric mixer set at med speed. Add butter and mix, occasionally scraping down the sides of the bowl.

Add eggs, vanilla, and condensed milk, and beat at medium speed until light and fluffy. Add the flour mixture and chocolate chips. Blend at low speed until just combined. Do not overmix.

Drop by rounded Tbsp's. onto ungreased cookie sheets, 2" apart. Bake 24-25 mins until cookies are slightly brown along the edges. Transfer cookies immediately to a cool surface with a spatula.


How to Make Snickerdoodles

1 cup butter or margarine softened

1 1/2 cups sugar

2 eggs

1 teaspoon baking soda

2 3/4 cups all purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons Cream of Tarter

1/2 cup sugar with 2 teaspoon cinnamon stirred in.

Cream together the butter and sugar. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.

Mix all dry ingredients together and add them to the egg mixture 1/3 at a time, mixing well after each addition. Cookie dough will be soft and sticky. Refrigerate the dough for at least 1 hour.

Shape the dough into small balls (the size of a large marble) and roll them in cinnamon sugar. Place them on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet about 2 inches apart and flatten them slightly.

Cookies will spread out as they bake. Bake at 400 for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned around the edges, but still soft.

Remove from cookie sheet immediately as the cookies will stick if allowed to cool on cookie sheet. Recipe makes about 6 dozen cookies. These cookies freeze well!

How to Make Heath Bar Cookies

2 cups EACH: butter, white sugar, brown sugar lightly packed

4 eggs

1 Tablespoon vanilla

4 1/2 cups flour

2 teaspoons EACH: baking powder and baking soda

7 cups Quaker Oats old fashioned oatmeal

1 - 7 ounce Hershey milk chocolate candy bar, chopped into large pieces

6 Heath candy bars, chopped

1 cup nuts (optional)

Cream together butter, white sugar, and brown sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Set aside.

Mix together flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Fold this into butter mixture. Add to this oatmeal, crumbled Heath candy bars, and nuts (if using nuts).

Make large cookies and bake in preheated 375 degree oven for 8-10 minutes (note: it is best to under-bake a little). Also, you can use 1/2 butter - 1/2 margarine. Makes 4 dozen large cookies.
