Your car or truck can develop rust at its exhaust tip when burned fuel exhaust condenses and collects on the tip of your vehicle's exhaust pipe. If your car has this rust and you'd like to get rid of it quickly and simple, here are 2 simple steps you can use to remove it.

Step 1 – Apply Steel Wool

Scrub the rusted area on the outside surface of the exhaust pipe with steel wool, using a circular motion, until you've removed as much rust as possible. If your car has sat overnight, when you begin the rust removal you may find condensed moisture on the pipe's inside surface. Use a dry rag to remove this moisture, then apply your steel wool to remove rust If you find heavier rust, use a heavier sandpaper grit, then apply the finer grit.

Step 2 – Apply Chrome Polish

Wipe rust dust and debris from the rusted area, Apply a dab of chrome polish to this area, then apply the steel wool, more lightly this time. Remove any chrome polish residue and examine the area. If rust still exists, apply more chrome polish until rust is gone. When finished, use a microfiber towel to remove all residue.
