Rust stain removal can be a process that is easily done. However, it can be a process that needs to be repeated a few times to get the stain completely removed. By following the steps below, you can turn your rust stained plastic back to new once again.

Step 1 - Wash

The first thing you will want to do is wash your plastic as usual. Make sure you wash your plastic with soap and warm water, covering the entire surface.

Step 2 - Baking Soda and Vinegar

Apply baking soda to the rust spot, covering it entirely. Add vinegar until the baking soda becomes a thick paste.

Step 3 - Spread Evenly

Take the paste, and spread it thick and evenly across the entire rust stain. Leave it sit to soak for about 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 4 - Scrub

Now take your scrubber, and using a circular motion, scrub the rust stain, until all of the paste is removed. You may have to repeat this process a few times to completely remove the stain.

Step 5 - Rinse and Wash

Before placing your plastic ware back into the cupboard, you will want to rinse and wash well. This will ensure all the solution is off, and safe for the next use.

Your plastic should now be back to its normal state. If not, check out our soda blasting guide.
