Q.How will this product save energy/money for me?
The product will not require warm/hot water which needs to be heated by a home hot water heater.
Q. Is this product good for whites as well as colors?
A. The product can be used with both whites and colors; however, as with the traditional laundry, sorting by color is highly recommended prior to cleaning, as some garments may bleed even in cold water conditions.
Q. Can I use this product on my delicates?
A. Tide Coldwater can be used on any garments that are considered machine washable. Some garments can be more susceptible to color loss and bleeding, and as with all detergents, it is recommended that a small hidden area of the garment be tested for colorfastness if there is a concern.
Q. Why can't I use the original product on a cold water setting?
A. You can use regular Tide in a cold water wash; however, Tide Coldwater has been specifically designed for use in cold water to provide even better cleaning.
Q. Can I use Tide Coldwater for all my clothes?
A. Tide Coldwater can be used on all machine-washable clothes.
Q. Will Tide Coldwater work on heavily soiled clothes?
A. Tide Coldwater will work great on heavily soiled clothes.
Q. Do I need to add anything else (bleach/ laundry aids/ pre-treat) to get my clothes clean?
A. Depending on the level and type of soil, you may still have other laundry additives that you choose to add. For typical laundry, nothing else will be required for cleaning.
Q. What happens if I use warm water by mistake?
A. Tide Coldwater can also be used in warm and hot water washes.
Q. Can I use this product with my machine?
A. If you have a High Efficiency (HE) washer, we recommend using Tide High Efficiency (HE) for the best results.

A. Many germs that would normally be washed away in hot water will still be removed in cold water with Tide Coldwater. For instances where there is a concern, it is recommended that extra steps be incorporated such as washing in hot water and/or adding chlorine bleach.

Q. What is the ingredient that makes Tide Coldwater better in cold water?
A. It is difficult to point to any ingredient as the ingredients in the formulation work synergistically together to maximize the performance of Tide Coldwater in cold water washing.
Q. How much suds does it produce?
A. The amount of suds was adjusted to be similar to regular Tide.
Q. Which version is the most effective for removing stains? (liquid vs. powder)
A. They have very similar stain removal profiles.
Q. What makes this product different from other detergents?
A. The product contains new materials that will aid in typical coldwater challenges such as greasy stain removal and whiteness while maintaining materials that provide typical cleaning in warmer conditions.
Q. Does Tide Coldwater clump?
A. The powder product was designed to dissolve in cold water in much the same way as other Tide products. When added prior to clothing addition and allowed to dissolve, clumping will not be an issue.
Q. Will Tide Coldwater spot my clothes?
A. The product was designed to be safe for all colorfast machine washable garments. If there is concern about stain spotting, it is highly recommended to test a small, hidden area of the garment. Spotting incidence is expected to be very low, approximately the same as traditional Tide products.
Q. Will Tide Coldwater clean as well as regular Tide?
A. Both products provide excellent stain removal and whitening.
