Tips on Charging an Electric Motorcycle Battery
An electric motorcycle is a great way to get around. Not only are they better for the environment than a car, but they are also much cheaper to use because you don't need to worry about buying gas. Charging the batteries at night should be sufficient for most batteries.
When you get new batteries for your motorcycle it's important to fully charge them first. Many times, the store you brought the bike from take care of this for you. The minimum charge for new batteries is 8 hours. This will ensure that the batteries hold as much charge as possible and will allow you to go as far as possible.
Although modern batteries don't suffer from the memory effect it's still important to run them down from time to time. Try allowing your battery to go completely flat before you charge it, you don't need to do this every time but it can help.
Topping the Battery
If any of the cells of the battery are low, they can be topped with distilled water. Make sure that only distilled water is used and nothing else, tap water is not suitable for this purpose. You might also want to invest in a trickle charger. These will keep your bikes battery fully topped, and then switch them off once they are full.
