Shadow boards used in the garage or workroom for tool storage are a convenient, inexpensive way to store your tools. You can have them where you can see them and also be able to tell if they have been returned to the correct spot.
- Shadow boards, sometimes called peg boards, are most often hung over the workbench. You can secure them to a wall by screwing through the shadow board and into the wall or stud behind it. Keep in mind the weight of the tools you will be hanging when installing a board.
- Shadow boards can also be hung by a chain and an S-hook. Put an S-hook on each corner of the board and stretch the chain between the S-hooks. Hang the board from a strong screw that has been screwed into a wall stud.
