Installing a new motorcycle exhaust system can increase the fuel efficiency of the bike. Since there is an increase in performance and speed, most motorcyclists will use that increase to ride faster and will not see the improved fuel efficiency. If, however, the bike is ridden in the same way that it was before the upgrade in exhaust systems, there will be a noticeable improvement in fuel economy. This happens because the overall performance of the bike is improved, and energy is no longer wasted in the form of trapped exhaust. This frees the bike to use less energy for the same performance, or alternatively, to use the energy boost for faster speeds.
